Good news Monday for those of you worried about the downtown Post Office on West Broad Avenue closing.
Roger Marietta tells FOX 31 they've officially signed a five year lease and have started renting out boxes again which is something they suspended when they were faced with closing their doors.
They were told they had to close nearly two years ago but got a short extension and then a year extension after that; all leading up to the now five year lease they've signed.
Marietta says this shows that Albany and Dougherty County's leaders are tenacious. He says everyone from the County Commission Chairman to the Mayor of Albany lobbied our congressmen and senators and it finally paid off.
