Investigators believe that a fire in south Albany may have occurred due to a rival gang dispute.

Firefighters were called to 1111 West Lincoln Ave. to a house fire started by a Molotov cocktail.

No one was hurt in the attack. Police say the victim was at the police station talking to officers about an attack earlier in the evening.

"There was an incident earlier in the evening, where there was a shooting a couple of streets over and we feel like both of the incidents may be tied together," said Albany fire investigator Sam Harris.

Police say a 35-year-old woman is the victim in both cases. She told police she was driving on Poplar Street when several people shot at her car. She wasn't hit.

Albany police, Albany fire, the Gang Task Force are working together on the crimes.
