Political newcomer confirms Albany City Commission candidacy

Medical Transport Specialist Bobby Coleman confirmed on Thursday to Fox 31's media partner The Albany Herald that he will run for the Ward II Albany City Commissioner seat, which is currently held by Ivey Hines.
Though the 2013 Albany Municipal Elections are still down the road, Coleman has a campaign plan in place and says he wants to focus primarily on public safety, education, recreation and economic development.
This may be Coleman's first time running for office, but he says his time working on the campaign team of lifelong friend Henry Mathis has helped him learn a lot about holding a political position.
