Police misconduct documents released
Law enforcement has released internal investigation documents from an incident involving four off-duty officers at Charley B's in August.
The documents show Albany Police Cpl. Daniel Ball denies inappropriately touching Officer Rodney Brown when Brown passed out from intoxication at the bar August 15. The documents show Ball failed a lie detector test. Albany police suspended Ball five days without pay for allegedly putting his genitals on Brown's head. Dougherty County Sheriff's Deputy Julian Martin was suspended three days for giving Brown a prescription painkiller that night. The investigation found the fourth officer, Thomas Williamson from Dougherty County police, was not there when the incident took place. Ball, Brown, and Williamson were assigned to the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit when the misconduct allegations surfaced.
The documents are available through the Albany city attorney's office.
