Police make arrest in Cordele death
SECOND UPDATE (9/2/14 11:55AM):
The Crisp County Sheriff's Office tells FOX 31 that Meddric Glover is now incarcerated at the Crisp County Sheriff's Office for a murder warrant.
Cordele police have obtained an arrest warrant for Meddric Montiego Glover in connection to the homicide of Lenoris Ray.
Detective Ketorie Sales says the warrant is for murder. Sales says Glover is not yet in custody, they're in the process of locating him.
Overnight Cordele police responded to an assault call that turned into a homicide.
They were called to 610 Blackshear Road, which is also the Morning Side public housing complex where they found 35-year-old Lenoris Deon Ray unconscious on the ground.
Police say they called EMS to the scene and Ray was pronounced dead.
Police do have a person of interest but aren't releasing the name because they haven't yet gotten warrants against that suspect.
Cordele police say they plan on beefing up patrol in the area because residents have told them they are scared and think the suspect might retaliate.
