      Police catch-up with running suspect

      Moultrie Police take a suspect into custody that had been running for two months.
      Moultrie Police caught up with a suspect Friday that they had been searching for since early June.

      The Moultrie Observer reports that Eric Edwards was taken into custody after he was spotted by an officer entering his fourth avenue home.

      Edwards has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

      Moultrie Police had been searching for Edwards since June 11th, after they found a half-pound of marijuana and about 22-grams of cocaine in a book that belonged to Edwards.

      Edwards has prior convictions from 2007 in Mitchell County on possession of marijuana, and also a 2004 conviction for aggravated assault in Colquitt County.

      Police say he is also facing charges in two separate cases involving domestic violence, and probation violation.
