Poets gather at open mic

Folks gathered Saturday to read their own poetry, or that of a well-known author

In honor of National Poetry Month, one library assistant decided to celebrate.

An open mic was held at the Westtown Public Library. There was a good turnout; several professors from Darton College read their own poetry or a poem by a well known author. Assistant Krysta Price says exposure to poetry is vital.

"Poetry is an amazing expression of yourself, your voice, becoming confidant in yourself, learning confidence. I just feel it's a good way to bring people together, diverse people. Poetry is universal," Said Price.

She hopes to make it an annual event.
