A group of 15 medical students will be spending their third year right here in southwest Georgia.
The students were at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Tuesday being welcomed to the area.
Jacob Holley was born and raised in Donalsonville and says he plans on studying--and practicing--in southwest Georgia.
"Personally, I love it down here and then the education you get down here, I heard it was really phenomenal just because you get that one-on-one experience with the doctors and the patients," said Holley.
Phoebe staffers say they hope all of the students make the decision to stay and practice in southwest Georgia.
