100 schools in 16 counties across southwest Georgia are aiming to get kids healthy with a new initiative.
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital's Network of Trust announced a new initiative called "Health Teacher."
The program is an online tool that provides teachers with an interactive way to promote a healthier lifestyle to students.
Eddie McBride with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital says he hopes the program will stop the problem before it starts, "trying to get them to develop those healthy habits at an early age instead of waiting until they're 15, 20 and so on, as we get older it gets harder to break those unhealthy habits."
Health Teacher is free to all school systems.
