The Phoebe Putney Professional Affairs Committee met Monday afternoon for their monthly approval of new medical staff members.
In recent months, the hospital has had to make significant cuts to balance their budget, but they say these new faces are not all new hires.
"These are independent practicing physicians or nurse practitioners or PA's who are working for some of those. Some of the physician practices are employed by the Phoebe Putney Health System, but we are not nearly at a point where we are oversaturated with physicians, nurse practitioners, PA's and things like that," said Senior Vice President Chief Medical Officer Dr. Doug Patten.
After approving those appointments, the board was also given a brief update on the newly implemented Tele-ICU unit and hopes to be able to provide status updates in the upcoming months.
