The Red Cross and Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital partnered up today for a blood drive.
The hospital hosts the drives every couple of months to stock up on blood for patients. Representatives say there is high need for blood now and are encouraging people to donate.
"There is just a variety of reasons that people would need to get blood. And it's our responsibility to have the products when patients need them," said blood drive coordinator Diane Swafford.
About a third of all the blood at the hospital gets used at the Phoebe Cancer Center.
