Phoebe holds breakfast to boost cancer study enrollment
Phoebe Putney held a breakfast Wednesday morning at Phoebe Northwest to get the word out about enrollment for The American Cancer Society's National Cancer Prevention Study.
Guests attending the event included Lee County Commissioner Dennis Roland, Leesburg Mayor Jim Quinn, Albany Mayor Dorothy Hubbard, and Smithville Mayor Jerry Myrick.
An official proclamation about CPS-3 was made during the breakfast. Officials with Phoebe Putney say that CPS-3 is an ongoing effort by the American Cancer Society and its partners to enroll hundreds of thousands of healthy adults in a long term study that will hopefully lead to new breakthroughs in finding the causes of cancer.
