Pelham police give tips for car, home break-ins during the holidays
PELHAM, Ga. —
Christmas is right around the corner, which means there can be an uptick in house and car break-ins.
Pelham Police Department says when Christmas shopping, don’t leave the gifts and other valuables in plain sight. You should put them in your trunk or cover the items.
Try and park your car in a place that has light at night. Parking near a security camera is also suggested.
To protect your home during the holidays, don’t put your Christmas tree by the window. Burglars would be able to see your gifts creating a reason to break in.
“These things happen quickly, and they strike fast,” Captain Rod Williams, Pelham Police Department, said. “If they see something that’s an easy target, they may go for it.”
If you’re going out of town, call your local police department for them to check on your house while you’re away.
