Pedestrian killed on South Mock Road

A pedestrian is now dead on S. Mock Rd. after being struck by a pickup truck around 5:30 A.M.

First Update ( 10:30 a.m.)

Albany police say that 52-year-old Johnny Burns was walking north in the center turn lane of the 1200 block of South Mock Road when a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 42-year-old Wesley Alvis struck him.

Police say that Alvis did not see as he entered the turn lane due to Burns being in dark clothing and the area being poorly lit.

No charges will be filed in this case.

A pedestrian has passed away after being hit by a red Chevy Silverado Monday around 5:33 AM.

The Albany Police Department have the driver and charges are pending.

They have not released any information on the suspect at this time.

The pedestrian was hit on Mock Road and Walter Brown.

The road is blocked at this time, but the roadway will be clear once the investigation on the road is complete.

The name of the victim has not been released.
