      Park unveiled in loving memory

Victory Park is established Sunday honoring longtime Albany resident, Rebecca Collins.
Friends and family of Rebecca Collins gathered today at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and Holloway Avenue to honor her legacy, with a brand new community park.

Those that have spent the last several years putting together the project say it stands as a great reminder of Collins, and will also keep her memory alive and well in Albany.

"I really do hope that everyone here in Albany will come out and appreciate the work that she has done, and just come here and enjoy this spot of memory, in memory of Rebecca because she deserved every bit of it," said project spokeswoman, Barbara Thomas.

Thomas says remembering Collins is so important, because she was always willing to help in this community, and now she can continue that mission by giving folks a place to come and fellowship.
