Coordinators say there are only 200 openings available, and they are first come, first served. Lee County has applied for two extra classrooms and hopes to have 40 extra vacancies sometime this year. Parents stood in line for over 12 hours in order to have a chance to register. Those who didn't make the cut were put on a waiting list.
The Pre-K program is funded by the Georgia Lottery and all expenses are included. Students who have previously attended a lottery-funded program are not eligible.
