Corporal Terrance Bryant and the Albany Police Department held a news conference Friday afternoon to ask for the public's help in finding who is responsible for the death of 34-year-old Jamey Spurlock.
Spurlock was shot and killed Sunday, Dec. 22 around 8:30 p.m. in East Albany. Spurlock and his son had just left Spurlock's fiancÃ's house when he realized he had a flat tire on Silica Drive.
The detectives working the case asked Spurlock's parents, Robert and Mary, to join them at the news conference to ask for help.
"It's hard," Mary Spurlock said. "I am a mother and I'm begging anyone who knows anything to come forward. It doesn't matter how small it is."
Cpl. Bryant says it was an apparent robbery. The victim received one gunshot wound to his body.
He says they have received many tips through Crimestoppers, some of which has been confirmed but they are asking for more witnesses to come forward.
If you have any information on this case, APD asks that you call Crimestoppers or 431-2132.
