      On Saturday The Council of Community Watches/Associations of Albany/Dougherty County met to to vote for officers for the newly formed citywide neighborhood watch association.

      On Saturday, the Council of Community Watches/Associations of Albany/Dougherty County met to vote for officers for the newly formed city-wide Neighborhood Watch Association.

      Offices include President, Vice President or President Elect, and various board members.

      Officials say the purpose of the council is to provide a means for individual community associations to work together for the betterment of the Albany and Dougherty County area and to build residential, community goals.

      Commissioner Ivey Hines says, "I think it's important because of the coming together of the community which will help the economic impact as well."

      The next scheduled Council of Community Watches/Association Meeting is scheduled for September 7th at 6:30.
