Omega man sentenced for killing wife

Fausto Gonzalez was indicted on felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony as well as three counts of cruelty to children for the June 2nd shooting death of his wife.

Officials with the Sheriff's Office say Gonzalez turned himself in 12 hours after the shooting, which stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Monday, Colquitt County Superior Court Judge Harry Altman II sentenced Gonzalez to serve 18 years in prison with 2 years on probation.

Altman also ordered that if deported Gonzalez is not to return to the United States.
