Local colleges are back in session for the fall with a growing population of registered nurses pursuing even more education.
14 Neonatal Intensive Care nurses at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital are going back to school this fall. It's a trend through all of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital nursing departments. NICU Nurse Nichole Graham says while taking classes, she'll have to balance school work with work life
Nichole Graham: I rotate night shift and day shift and weekends and weekdays and holidays so I'm just gonna have to be mindful of the time I need to dedicate to school.
Nursing directors say Phoebe helps pay for employee's nursing classes as a means to recruit and retain nurses.
