The 2011 Dougherty County tourism industry numbers have been officially released by the Albany Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
Dougherty County generated 2,020 jobs within the tourism industry in 2011, increasing from 1,980 in 2010.
Tourist that visited the county spent $198.46 million, creating $7.53 million in tax revenue and $5.84 million in local tax revenue. In 2010 tourists that visited spent $184.45 million, creating $7.02 million in tax revenue and 5.56 million in local tax revenue.
Officials say on an average day in Dougherty County, tourists spent $543,726 on tourism related expenses. All numbers increased from 2010 to 2011.
