No worries when it comes to county healthcare

At Monday's Dougherty County Commission meeting, commissioners approved the group health plan changes for 2014.There are four changes to the plan, the first of which maintains the 2013 employee contributions for both mental and dental plans. The second is changing the Dental Plan Administration from Meritain to United Concordia, Inc.Another change made was to revise coverage to the dental plan to include additional cleanings while pregnant and/or for chronic conditions. The fourth and last change was to implement Specialty Rx Step Therapy to the Pharmacy coverage to require members taking expensive specialty prescriptions to first try less expensive drugs that treat the same condition.Chairman Jeff Sinyard said these changes speak highly of the board, everyone on the health plan, and everyone involved in the change process; Sinyard feels these are all very positive changes.None of these changes will increase the costs of the health plan to any employees.Stay connected to as stories develop and the FOX 31 Newscast at 10 PM.
