No change in Georgia gun laws
The Georgia General Assembly has decided not to change any of the gun laws in the state this year.
That includes House Bill 512 which would have armed public school employees, and allow concealed weapons permit holders to carry their guns onto college campuses and into places of worship.
"Church is supposed to be a place of worship, sanctuary, safety, comfort, and I think when you start adding weapons there you add a tension," said Deacon Marvin Oliver from Institutional First Baptist Church.
The assembly is set to reconvene next January for an election year.
