Nine Georgia cities named to best-performing list

Nine Georgia Cities have been named to the 2013 Best-Performing Small Cities index created by the Milken Institute.

The list takes several variables into account such as job growth, wage growth, short-term job growth, high-tech GDP growth, high-tech GDP concentration,, an number of high-tech industries with location quotients greater than one.

Those on the list include Gainesville at 49, Valdosta at 51, Hinesville-Fort Stewart at 93, Athens-Clarke County at 94, Macon at 110, Warner Robins at 113, Rome at 132, Albany at 146, Brunswick at 158 and Dalton at 177.
