The Albany Police Department held their own, "Night Out" event Tuesday at the Albany Civic Center.
The event encourages the public to gain a better relationship with local law enforcement, and also gives parents the chance to stock up on school supplies.
But event organizers and kids alike agree that this event is all about having fun.
"My mom, my brothers and sisters, we came out here and had a great time. We did the cupid shuffle, and other fun stuff," said student Cierra Moore.
The event is held the first week of August every year and event planners are hoping to continue this tradition for many years to come.
