The Gause family of Lee County was selected as a winner in America's Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
The $2500 they received, they turned around and gave to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Eric Gause told FOX 31 why they made that decision, "Phoebe gave us everything. They changed our lives. Our daughter was born at 28 weeks and her and her mother both had real difficulties."
The NICU plans to use the money to create a video that will ask commonly asked questions for new mothers.
