The Albany Dougherty Planning Commission has approved the rezoning application for land on Gillionville Road with a 6-2 vote.
A Family Dollar store will be built on a portion if the land if the rezoning application is approved by the Dougherty County Commission in a final vote.
Lindsey Powell owns property behind the proposed location. He says the discount chain will bring trash, high traffic and noise pollution to the neighborhood.
Sanford Hillsman voted for the rezoning under the condition that the is a 40 to 50 feet buffer between the store and Lindsey Powell's home.
