New smoking regulations on Albany Tech
Starting New Years Day, Albany Tech has new regulations when it comes to smoking on campus.
Wendy Howell with Albany Tech says smoking on campus is becoming an increasing problem. In an effort to stop this problem and make their campus healthier and greener, some new rules are being used for both the students and the teachers.
Howell said, "The first time is twenty dollars. The second time thirty and then forty beyond that other disciplinary action can be taken with a student, particularly we have a student code of conduct so they would go through a hearing of some sort." Smoking could then lead to a student being expelled from the school.
Howell says she hopes this doesn't happen to any of the students and hopes that students begin to take the no smoking policy more seriously with these new regulations.
