New restaurant hopes to spark up business
Firehouse Subs opened its doors on Monday morning in Moultrie.
It's the 1,100th store in the franchise.
Carla Dodson, the restaurant co-owner, also owns two other Firehouse Subs in Albany and Tifton.
Her store in Tifton has the biggest fundraising total in the franchise.
Earlier this year, that restaurant was able to donate automated external defibrillators to the Tifton Fire Department.
She hopes that her new store will be able to give back to it’s local community, as well. Dodson says, “About 95% of the money that is donated to the foundation, through all the stores, is given back to the local community.”
A portion of a customer's purchase at Firehouse Subs goes to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The donations can benefit local firefighters and emergency responders.
