The Lee County Board of Education has named the new principal of the Lee County Primary School.
Debbie Duvane has been promoted to principal. The former assistant principal says working with the school is a major part of her life and she wants to see the school continue to grow.
"I have great staff that's been working hard to implement all the new CCGPS standards and it's just and honor for me to be able to lead them," says Debbie Duvane.
Also during the Lee County Board of Education meeting, officials awarded Kenny Construction Company with a contract to manage the final construction projects of SPLOST 3 funds.
"Unfortunately we have more projects than we have money. So there are going to be some priorities that have to be set," says Dr. Lawrence Walters, Lee County School System Superintendent.
A top priority is finishing the school system's second middle school.
"Lee County Elementary School next year will be our second middle school. We have to renovate that building to accommodate the middle school students next year," says Dr. Walters.
Lee County Elementary students will be moved to a new school built with SPLOST 3 funds.
