The Lee County School System is 100% tobacco free.

What that means is, no one including students, parents, or faculty can use any tobacco products on school grounds.

54 out of 181 schools districts in Georgia have adopted this policy.

Officials with the Cancer Coalition of South Georgia say it's best to educate early.

Health Education Coordinator Kimberly Scott said, "if youth aren't exposed to adults using tobacco products, it might reduce their chances of picking up the habit or using those tobacco products. So we think it's important that we model that behavior."

Each school system determines their own enforcement plan, and there is no exact punishment.

The next school system on their radar is Terrell County.
