New health provisions for Lee Co. employees

The Lee County Utility Authority is in discussions to make sure employees are safe on the job.
The general manager for the company has proposed that those who handle dangerous equipment have their vision and hearing checked.
He says for most of the jobs the Utility Authority only relies on an employee's driver license renewal but that information can be outdated.
"They gave me some things to look at as far as changing that section within the personnel manual as far as current employees who handle heavy equipment having their annual hearing and vision test," says Chris Boswell, General Manager for the Lee County Utility Authority.
If this measure is approved, it will be paid for by the Lee County Utility Authority.
