The City of Ashburn has 8,600 residents to one clinic and soon that will all change.
Two blocks from the center of the town a new health facility will be built. The CEO of Tift Regional Medical Center, Bill Richardson, decided to take up half the city block across from Washington Street. This new clinic will give residents the option to stay close instead of having to choose between Crisp and Tift County when they call an ambulance.
Chamber of Commerce President, Michael Geoghagan says the new health facility will include extra services like x-ray exams.
He adds not only will it help the people it will help boost the image of Ashburn and that the start of construction is projected to begin at the end of the year.
