An art exhibit called "Celebration of Heritage" will be showcased at the Albany Area Arts Council starting Thursday night in honor of Black History Month.

The "Celebration of Heritage" will showcase five artists including; Femi Anderson, Sandra Anderson, Chris Johnson, Demetrius Sexion and Horace Williams. The exhibit includes 47 pieces of art ranging from sculptures, paintings, drawings, mixed media and photography.

The exhibit is sponsored by Renaissance Connection, a new organization that has recently started working with the Albany Area Arts Council.

Femi Anderson, one of the artists featured in the exhibit and Creative Director of Renaissance Connection, says her artwork was inspired by the people around her.

The exhibit will run until February 27 and Anderson says she's always looking for an artist who wants to express themselves and showcase their work.
