      Nashville jams to traveling Smithsonian exhibit

      Officials say students have been coming and touring the American Roots music exhibit every day and they also have a chance to listen to live music.

      Nashville Georgia residents and students are rocking out after a traveling Smithsonian exhibit has called the city home since May 18th.They were one of 12 cities chosen to have the "New Harmonies, Celebrating American Roots Music" exhibit visit.Officials say students have been coming and touring the music exhibit every day and they also have a chance to listen to live music.Officials add that its important for students to learn about music in general but its especially important for them to learn about the music that originated in the town they're growing up in.The final entertainment for the exhibit will be a concert by 4th season American Idol runner-up (to Carrie Underwood) Bo Bice at Horsecreek Winery in Nashville, Georgia on June 29th.Stay connected to MySouthWestGA.com as stories develop and the FOX 31 Newscast at 10 PM.
