NAACP, nearby business ransacked over holiday weekend
Albany police are investigating after some businesses were broken into and items were stolen over the Labor Day weekend.
Marvin Jones with the Albany-Dougherty National Association for the Advancement of Colored People told police the NAACP office at 136 North Magnolia Street was ransacked sometime between Friday and Monday and a stove and refrigerator are missing. The suspect knocked a window out in the back of the building.
Next door, Vincent Troup with Troup Barber Shop reported three televisions, a laptop and a video game system missing after the back door was kicked in. In the parking lot, a stereo system was stolen from a Chevrolet Astro Van.
