The local branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) visited students at Lamar Reese Magnet School of the Arts Wednesday morning with wrapped gifts in tow.
"We try to give back to the community each year...It's so great to see all the kids' smiling faces," said Tammy Green, Georgia State district coordinator for NAACP.
K-Mart co-sponsored the event, providing gifts to 50 students in need this holiday season.
This was the first year the NAACP has donated Christmas gifts and the organization hopes to continue doing it every year, according to Green.
