Multiple arrests made in Douglas drug busts

The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit has made many drug related arrests over the past month.
On April 22, 2014, DCDU executed the search of a residence of a State Probationer on Haley Circle in Douglas. Detectives found 34 packages of marijuana. Marcus Davis was arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. Detectives also seized a Ruger .38 Special revolver and $1,920.00 of counterfeit money in the form of $20.00 bills, $50.00 bills and $100.00 bills. The investigation regarding the counterfeit bills was referred to the United States Secret Service. The counterfeit bills were also released to the Secret Service.
On a separate incident on April 24th, a Sheriff TMs office south of the Atlanta metro area seized $1,000.00 of counterfeit money which was believed to have originated from Coffee County. The Coffee County Sheriff TMs Office cautions everyone in cash dealings, especially from private persons, such as at flea markets and yard sales.
On April 23, 2014, DCDU detectives arrested Francis Lee Grantham after he attempted to sell 3 ounces of marijuana to an unnamed source on Haley Circle. Grantham was taken down by detectives already on location. Grantham was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
On April 24th, DCDU detectives arrested Stacey Kevin Prescott following a search of his residence on Yellowbrick Rd. in Coffee County. Detectives seized a Ruger Blackhawk .44 Magnum revolver, a Hi-Point .45 cal. handgun, one ounce of methamphetamine and over $1900.00 cash. Prescott was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine.
On April 29th, CCSO deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on the shoulder of the roadway on Younge Fussell Rd. in Ambrose. Deputies discovered a small quantity of heroin, syringes and other items used to inject controlled substances. Deputies arrested Joshua Ursrey and Cameranne Roberts; the case was turned over to DCDU. Detectives charged Ursrey with Possession of Heroin. Roberts was charged with Possession of Drug Related Objects.
On May 2nd, CCSO deputies stopped a vehicle occupied by Roderick Bernard Brock in Douglas. Deputies and DCDU detectives discovered a distributable amount of Ecstasy in his possession. Brock was arrested and transported to CCSO. Jailers discovered a quantity of marijuana, cocaine and Oxycodone concealed in his groin area. Detectives charged Brock with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Ecstasy (MDMA) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance and Crossing Guard lines with Contraband.
On May 5th, DCDU detectives received an anonymous tip of marijuana growing at the residence of Ashley Kerr Harrell on Younge Fussell Rd. in Ambrose. Detectives drove to the location and observed four marijuana plants growing in pots by the driveway. The scene was secured while detectives returned to the Sheriff TMs Office to interview Harrell who had been previously arrested for an unrelated offense.
During an interview, Harrell admitted the marijuana was his, and further told detectives where he had more marijuana growing. A search of the property revealed twelve plants growing.
Three days earlier, Harrell was arrested for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, DUI, Open Container, No Driver TMs License and Failure to Maintain Lane following an incident in Ambrose.
Harrell was witnessed by persons at a convenience store in Ambrose kill a small puppy in the parking lot. Witnesses told deputies Harrell grabbed a puppy, lifted it above his head and slammed it to the ground, killing it instantly. Witnesses stated Harrell then pumped gas into his vehicle. Witnesses stated once Harrell finished pumping gas, he picked up the puppy a second time and threw it in a nearby ditch. Harrell left the location and was quickly located by CCSO deputies. Harrell was quickly located and struggled with law enforcement before being arrested. Following the incident on May 5th, Harrell has now been charged with Manufacturing Marijuana; Harrell remains in the Coffee County Jail.
On May 6th, DCDU executed a search warrant on Harrell St. in Broxton. Detectives located a small quantity of marijuana, crack cocaine and seized over $4,700.00 cash. Detectives also seized an SKS assault rifle with several loaded magazines and a .25 cal handgun. Autwain Hunt was arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 1000 TM of a Public Park and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute within 1000 TM of a Public Park. Arrest warrants for Charlie Lee Smith, Jr. of Broxton have also been obtained. Smith lives in the same residence as Hunt, but was not home during the time of the raid. Smith is an accomplice in the investigation which led to the search warrant of the residence. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Smith, please notify local law enforcement or call 911. Smith is believed to be armed.
