Multi-car accident injures six on Sylvester Road

Dougherty County Police, Albany Fire Department, and EMS responded to a multi-car accident on Sylvester Road Wednesday morning.

Investigators say that a Chevrolet Tahoe crossing Sylvester Road while heading southbound on County Line Road, struck the driver's side front end of a Ford Taurus in the right hand lane traveling east on Sylvester Road, then the Tahoe hit a Chevrolet Silverado at the stop sign on South County Line Road which resulted in the Tahoe rolling onto its side and roof.

Officers say that there were a total of six injuries reported in total; four passengers in the Tahoe and two in the Taurus. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The driver of the Tahoe is being charged with failure to yield.

Officers on scene say that traffic is backed up and being rerouted as they clean-up the scene and expect it to be reopened within an hour.
