      Moultrie neighborhoods need help

Areas the city is specifically focusing on are First Street, Second Avenue, Third Street, and Seventh Avenue Northwest. / Courtney Highfield

The City of Moultrie recieved almost half a million dollars in a Community Development Block Grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

This grant will go towards cleaning up neighborhoods and making improvements to the community. Areas the city is specifically focusing on are First Street, Second Avenue, Third Street, and Seventh Avenue Northwest.

FOX 31 spoke to several residents in these areas who all agreed their neighborhood needs this grant. They said the houses are substandard, the roads need work, and those are just a couple of the things that need to be fixed. But some residents were doubtful these improvements would be made; they're hoping the city proves them wrong and does clean up the area.
