Moultrie man burned in backyard explosion

Officials with the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta are reporting that James Lilley is in critical, but stable condition at this time.

A Moultrie man is in the hospital after he was burned during an explosion in his backyard Friday evening.
Officials with the Moultrie Fire Department say James Lilley was pouring gasoline into a barrel to burn wood pallets when the explosion happened. Lilley sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to around 20% of his body and was transported to the Colquitt Regional Medical Center shortly after 7 p.m.
Lilley was then airlifted to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta around 9:30 p.m. His current condition is unknown at this time.
