Colquitt County officials held their annual service to honor fallen officers Thursday morning.
Corporal David Underwood with the Moultrie Police Department said in the past year there have been 7 police officers killed in Georgia alone.
Underwood says its important for the community to understand the reality of a police officers job. He says every day there is a chance of an officer not returning home after work.
By having these annual ceremonies Underwood hopes the community will really appreciate every aspect of what an officer does.
