Moultrie encourages residents to take the trash out

Moultrie officials are asking citizens to help with the spring cleaning by offering a free trash pickup during the week.

As part of their annual Spring Cleanup, Moultrie residents can clean their properties of litter, debris, appliances, junk automobiles, and other discarded items while having the items properly disposed of at no additional cost.

Residents can place the items at their normal trash collection location or take it to a trailer at the City of Moultrie Service Center on 1st St NE. An additional electronics recycling event will be held on Wednesday for those wishing to drop off electronic goods at the Georgia State Farmers Market.

Junk automobiles can be collected from residences at no additional cost by contacting Moultrie Public Works Department at 890-5423 for a list of participating haulers.

Officials stress that there is a volume limit of 25 cubic yards per address.
