Mother indicted in murder for hire plot
A Dougherty County woman has been indicted by a grand jury after allegedly attempting to hire three people to kill a teenager.
Sara Galt, who also goes by Sara Marshall, was indicted Thursday.
Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards says back on June 21st the woman offered a reward of $5,000 for Antonio Davis, Kei Kei Johnson and Marnesha Lockett to murder 16-year-old Juwanda Washington.
Washington was a friend of Sara Galt's daughter before the two teens got into a fight that landed the suspect's child behind bars.
In retaliation, Galt is believed to have solicited the services of three people to kill the teenager who got into an altercation with her child.
She allegedly offered $5,000 for the death of the 16-year-old and $1,000 for someone to beat her up.
Authorities say instead of taking the offer, the witnesses contacted police about the case.
