      Mosquito season may not bite as big

      Mosquitoes are headed to Southwest Georgia and they TMre coming quick.Donnell Mathis with Dougherty County Public Works says when rain and heat comes, so do mosquitoes.Mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water and with heat, the eggs are able to hatch. So what are some precautions to take when mosquitoes begin to swarm?Mathis says repellent is number one, emptying any containers or anything else outside your home that can hold water is also key.He adds there is an expected increase in mosquitoes but Public Works will be out five times a week to spray for mosquitoes and look for larva.Mosquito season starts in May and will end sometime in October.
