About three tons of tires were cleaned up Monday morning after being dumped illegally.
Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful Executive Director Judy Bowles says this isn't just unsightly but also a health hazard.
With the temperatures heating up, an area like this could see a lot more snakes and mosquitos.
The tires were dumped on the property of Norfolk Southern, a railroad company, on West Town Road.
"If we could catch who did this and go in front of a judge, he can make them clean up for a one-mile radius, he can give them a fine, he can also give them jail time," Bowles said.
The railroad company now has to pay a crew to come in, removed the tires, and properly dispose of them.
