More snow for South Georgia next week?

As of Friday night, the next weather maker for South Georgia looks to be about five days away.

At the surface high pressure is in place until a cold front moves through on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The best chance for rain and possibly even snow will be Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Rain on Tuesday night could possible change to light snow between midnight and mid-morning across Southwest Georgia Wednesday.

Confidence regarding snow is still low as of Friday night due to the forecast being five days away. If the timing of the front changes, rain will be more likely than snow.

As of Friday night, the European and American models indicate precipitation falling with a temperature at or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

This front may weaken quickly as it moves through the region. Another shot of cold, dry air will move in with the passage of the front keeping Arctic temperatures in place through the end of next week.

No need to change plans for next week as of right now but it is important to keep an eye on the forecast early next week.
