      More charges for teacher arrested for child porn

      More charges have been filed against former teacher Brian Brannen. / Dougherty County Jail

      The Office for the United States Attorney of the Middle District of Georgia has announced that Brannen has pled guilty to one count of possession of child pornography on Monday.

      Brannen will be sentenced in 60 days and faces a maximum possible sentence of twenty years, a maximum fine of $250,000 or both.

      Dougherty County Sheriff's officials have upped the charges for a teacher accused of having child porn on his computer.

      Brian Brannen now has 24 counts of sexual exploitation of a child against him, according to Captain Craig Dodd with the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office.

      Law officials added 14 additional counts Monday to the 10 counts that he already had.

      The suspect is also facing two counts for possession of drug related objects and police are waiting on information about a firearm to see if he will have additional charges.

      Brannen is still in the Dougherty County Jail without bond.

      Before his arrest, he was working as a teacher at Radium Springs Middle School.
