The Tribunal has ruled that Smith will be suspended for 20 days with no pay.
The Dougherty County School System is holding a tribunal hearing this morning involving a DCSS teacher.
The hearing is for the termination of Jamar Smith, the former Monroe High School band director.
Smith was charged in September with simple battery. Smith allegedly pushed an elementary school student and slapped another at Morningside Elementary.
Smith also allegedly made students do push-ups and/or hold heavy text books above their heads for a long period of time as punishment.
Dr. David Mosely, the interim superintendent and Sergeant Derra Salter with the Dougherty County School Police are among witnesses for the prosecution.
