Darton State College has announced via press release that it will now offer an online music program exclusively for professional military musicians.

The new online music program, which begins this fall, allows military musicians to study music and earn an associate of music degree at home, on base or even when transferred abroad. Darton State College is the first college to offer a fully online associate of music degree to servicemembers worldwide.

"We are very excited to be able to offer our military musicians this educational opportunity," said Dr. Jeff Kluball, Darton State College music director. "This new program gives our military personnel the opportunity to get formal music education without having to choose between serving our country or going to college."

Darton State College has a proven record of serving professional military musicians. Since 2003, Darton has educated nine cohorts of the Marine Corps Logistics Base band, of which several have completed their music degrees.

"The music military program was fantastic because of the instructor's understanding of how busy we can be as Marine Musicians," said Roberto Gonzalez, Sgt. USMC, Albany Marine Band. "If I had the opportunity to do the program over again then I would any day."

Registration for the new online associate of music degree is open. For more information regarding Darton's new online music degree program call 229-317-6856 or visit www.darton.edu/military-music.com.
